Herndon, VA, April 15, 2016 – Jan Bures, Executive Vice President, Group Aftersales and Services, Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA), has been recognized as “Supply Chain Executive of the Year” at the fourth annual Automotive Leaders Summit held in Las Vegas on April 7. The award recognizes Bures’ commitment to network optimization to efficiently achieve VWGoA’s goals in the North American market.
“Jan Bures embodies the importance of process efficiency and optimization of the networks,” said Peter Wooding, CEO of Three6Zero, and host of the Automotive Leaders Summit. “The contributions of Mr. Bures and of those at our annual celebration continue to benefit the automotive industry as a whole.”
As the Executive Vice President for Group After Sales & Services for Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., Bures is responsible for steering the group after sales strategy, delivery of VWGOA parts turnover and profit, parts logistics, wholesale parts operations, contact centers and roadside assistance.
Prior to his current role which he assumed in 2013, Bures spent over 20 years with the Volkswagen Group holding positions of increasing responsibility across the globe.
“Enhancing our network and cultivating strong relationships with our partners in the supply chain represents a core area of Volkswagen Group of America’s business strategy,” said Bures. “I am very grateful to the jury for honoring me on behalf of VWGoA and our brands VW and Audi with this award and share it with my dedicated team.”
The Automotive Leaders Summit, an annual conference hosted by international media company Three6Zero, raises awareness and gives recognition to the companies and individuals that are the backbone of the automotive supply chain sector. The conference features keynote speakers, panel debates, forums and other discussions related to the global supply chain and automotive industry. The conference’s Automotive Global Awards ceremony honors individuals and companies in 25 categories, including supply chain, logistics quality, purchasing and other operations. Industry experts judge best performance in each category.
In 2015, Volkswagen Group of America was named the Automotive Leaders Summit’s “Most Supportive OEM,” an award honoring a vehicle manufacturer exemplary at fostering relationships across sectors to move the industry forward.
