Scott Speed looks to continue his hot streak, while Tanner Foust hopes to regain championship momentum with only three races remaining in the 2016 Red Bull Global Rallycross season

Herndon, VA  — Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross heads to Seattle this weekend hoping to land a fifth straight Red Bull Global Rallycross victory and solidify championship leads for its drivers, Scott Speed and Tanner Foust, and for the Volkswagen team. Last month’s race in Atlantic City was dominated by the Indianapolis-based squad, which hopes for further success with a strong showing at Evergreen Speedway on Saturday, September 17.

Scott Speed earned his third consecutive win in Atlantic City, taking a narrow lead in championship standings over his teammate, Tanner Foust, with the result. The 10-time Red Bull GRC race winner aims for a similar run to the one he enjoyed in the team’s last outing, in which Speed set the fastest qualifying time and won each of his Heat and Semifinal races before taking the top step of the podium in the Final.

“Last race went super smooth for us, and we were really able to extract the most from our car,” said Speed. “I’m really proud of where are team is right now, and I think we’re in excellent shape to finish out the season strong.”

Tanner Foust continued a record-setting streak of Heat and Semifinal wins in Atlantic City, bringing his total to 22 victories in the 2016 season. Foust led much of the Final in Atlantic City, before a puncture forced him to slow, letting Speed into the lead. Foust continued on three tires to earn a fourth-place finish, but now sits six points behind his teammate in the standings.

“It was a tough way to end the race last time out, but I’m ready to bounce back and get another win under our belts,” said the driver of the No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Beetle GRC. “I’ve competed at Evergreen Speedway a lot over the years, so I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces in the crowd and putting on a great show for these amazing fans.”

Scott Speed’s car will have a new look this weekend, sporting the Red, White, and Green of Oberto All Natural Beef Jerky, celebrating the company’s home race in Seattle. The defending series champion is eager to get his No. 41 Oberto Circle K Beetle GRC to the top of the podium in front of enthusiastic friends and fans.

“This is an exciting new look for our car,” said Speed. “With Oberto on board, we have a little extra motivation to get another win. Let’s keep the streak going!”

The ninth round of the 2016 season from Atlantic City will air on NBC—Sunday, September 18 at 1:30PM (ET).
