Herndon, VA (May 1, 2017) – Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (VWGoA) today announced that Pietro Zollino, 49, has been named Executive Vice President, Communications for Volkswagen Group of America, effective immediately. In this position, Zollino will be responsible for all aspects of communications for the Volkswagen brand and Group related activities. He will report directly to Hinrich J. Woebcken, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
In April 2016, Zollino joined the team in Herndon as the Chief Communications Officer of the then newly formed North American Region Volkswagen brand, a responsibility he continues to hold. Previous to this role, Zollino held leadership positions in communications for Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, including; the Head of Innovation, Digitalization and Technology for the Volkswagen Group and the Head of Group Global Product Communications. He joined Volkswagen in 2012.
“Pietro brings over 25 years of experience in the automotive area,” said Woebcken, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. “This extensive experience will prove helpful to the strategic and operational oversight of our Group and Brand communications.”
A native of Italy, Zollino holds a degree in Physics and a degree in Medical-Physics as well as an education in journalism.
